Why would we tell you that you have to be 21 or older to attend the 4th annual Wine & Dine? You might think it's because there will be sampling of wine, beer and spirits, and yes, legally, you'd be right. But really, it's because there's just so much to take in -- so much food to sample, so many types of cuisine, so much flavor -- that you need to be able to handle it. We don't want anyone dropping to the ground because they just tasted the most amazing bit of steak they ever ate. That happened one year.** Created a terrible tripping hazard. And one lady also tried to marry a sauce. A sauce! While it did cause a bit of mayhem, it's true that the photos of their union were lovely.*** Now, we don't want to deter anyone (of legal age) that is excited to try the dishes from many, many restaurants, just um, play it cool while your at the Fashion Industry Gallery, 1807 Ross Ave., from 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, all right? That being said, oohs and aahs are perfectly acceptable. Encouraged, even. Same goes for generosity -- proceeds benefit the North Texas Food Bank. Visit dallasobserver.com for more info. **That didn't actually happen. ***There are no photos, but they'd probably be awesome if there were.
