Nice to see KTVT-Channel 11 back in the news business: After being first to send word that the federal indictments were on the way in the City Hall corruption case, Channel 11 breaks the news that the FBI has warned area law enforcement officials to watch their backs, as the Aryan Brotherhood "may have Dallas police in its sights." The warning stems from the incarceration of 33-year-old Jason Lee Hankins, who's sitting in the Lew Sterrett Justice Center awaiting trial for the murders of two fellow Aryan Brotherhood members who the gang thought were snitches. Hankins was arrested in August 2006 in New Mexico.

Jay Gormley's story, which has since been picked up by the Associated Press, says that "Hankins is seeking out members of the Aryan Brotherhood who were recruited as police informants in order to gather information about local law enforcement officers." He's trying to find out where officers live, what their phone numbers are and whether or not they're undercover. --Robert Wilonsky
