We don’t really think of Highland Park as the go-to place for a good car wash, as we're rather fond of the DIY stalls in East Dallas. But PR maven Holly Morgan at the beloved Dallas Museum of Art knows how we love a clean car almost as much as we love our sweet, furry friends, so she points us straight into the wealthihood for a suds-up this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (at Douglas Avenue and Druid Lane). Yep, the students of Highland Park High are grabbing buckets and lathering up to benefit Dog & Kitty City, the no-kill animal shelter operated by the Humane Society of Dallas County. It’s too good to be true, right? You get to see HP kids working and it’s for a good cause. Crazy.
But that’s not the only connections between the DMA and furbabies that need homes. Hank and Sammy, two teensy tabbies found in the shrubs just outside the DMA in July, are still in need of forever homes. (C’mon, they’re small enough to fit in a sink and obviously have an appreciation for art.) Morgan, being true in her quest to help the furred and needy, has been fostering these 3-month-old kits with some help from local non-profit, no-kill rescue group, Kittico Cat Rescue. Please let me. They will be strictly indoor kitties.”
