Van Dralan Dixson, the neighborhood watch volunteer accused of a string of rapes in South Dallas, was arrested in Baton Rouge on Tuesday, several local news outlets are reporting.
Police announced Dixson as a suspect over the weekend after DNA evidence linked him to one of the assaults. Subsequent DNA tests have since tied him to three more of the nine rapes he is suspected of.

Update 3:44 p.m.: At a brief press conference this afternoon, Dallas provided a few more details. Major Jeff Cotner told reporters that detectives developed information yesterday morning that eventually led to Dixson's arrest. He wouldn't specify what that information was, but said that "there was contact between Dixson and individuals in Dallas."
Investigators are still trying to figure out why Dixson fled to Louisiana. They hope to figure that out, and a lot more, once after they transport him back to Dallas from the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
With that, DPD ended the briefing, promising a more thorough account, along with a complete timeline, tomorrow.
Update at 4:06 p.m.: The Dallas Morning News has the grisly details of another sexual assault Dixson is suspected of, this one involving a woman who was walking to the DART station with her 15-year-old and 9-year-old children.
