A dozen theaters in the Dallas-Fort Worth area will be part of tonight's nationwide screening of Anat Baron's documentary Beer Wars, a David vs. Goliath tale about the struggles of independent craft brewers pitted against gigantic beer corporations. The film will be followed by a live simulcast of a Ben Stein-led panel discussion with leading brewers and beer experts.

But in a mind-boggling failure to grasp opportunity, none of the local screenings are at the Angelika, Studio Movie Grill or any other theater where filmgoers could, y'know, actually have a beer while they watch a movie about beer. Oh well, that's what baggy jeans and big purses are for.

Local participating theaters include AMC Northpark Center 15, Cinemark 17 with IMAX and Regal Galaxy Theater in Dallas; Regal Fossil Creek in Fort Worth; Cinemark Tinseltown 17 in Grapevine; AMC Parks in Arlington; AMC Highland Village; Cinemark Vista Ridge Mall in Lewisville; AMC Mesquite 30; Cinemark 12 Town Center in Mansfield; and Cinemark 24 and Cinemark West Plano in Plano.

Tickets and the full list of theaters are listed here, and more details about the event are available at the Beer Wars Live site.
