One of the biggest K-pop groups in the world touches down in Texas for two highly anticipated headline shows in Dallas this weekend.

The nine-member unit — made up of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu — brings the <This is For> World Tour to American Airlines Arena on Jan. 31 and Feb 1.

Since debuting in 2015, TWICE has gained millions of fans around the world with their hit songs such as “Strategy,” “Fancy” and “What is Love?” The group has also gained a reputation for dynamic performances, including a triumphant set at Lollapalooza 2025, where they made history as the first K-pop girl group to headline the iconic festival.

To cap that 10-year anniversary celebration last year, some of the group’s members were also involved in the omnipresent, record-breaking, and now Oscar-nominated animated movie, K-Pop Demon Hunters. The lead single in promotion of the album, “Takedown,” features vocals from Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung. It has over 277 million streams on Spotify alone.

What are your memories of performing in Texas in the past? Does anything in particular stand out about these shows?

MOMO: We were in Texas in 2023 during our <READY TO BE> Tour, and what really stood out was the energy. The atmosphere the fans created was incredible; it gave us so much joy and motivation on stage.

DAHYUN: The fans were so interactive, which made the whole show feel really alive. Because of that, we naturally wanted to communicate with them even more while we were performing.

What is the concept of the upcoming TWICE US tour, and how will you express this through the choreography and songs?

NAYEON: One of the biggest differences of this tour is the 360-degree stage. In the past, we performed facing one direction, but this time we’ll be able to see and connect with ONCEs from every angle, which feels really new and exciting for us.

MINA: Because of the 360-degree stage, the choreography has changed a lot. We put a lot of thought into making sure fans in every section can see us clearly and enjoy the performance equally.

CHAEYOUNG: We also prepared a little surprise especially for our U.S. fans. We’ll be performing a song that we didn’t perform during Phase 1 of the tour. Some fans might already have an idea of what it is, but for those who don’t, we hope you’ll come to the show and experience it for yourself.

Not long ago, TWICE opened for Coldplay’s stadium show in Seoul. What was it like standing on that stage? And as performers and artists, what did you take away from the experience?

CHAEYOUNG: It still feels like a dream. We’re so thankful for those six days. It was a time when we learned a lot about how to connect with the audience and share that energy with them on stage.

As members of TWICE performed a track for K-Pop Demon Hunters, what impact do you think this movie had on the K-pop industry across the world?

JEONGYEON: When we first decided to participate in K-Pop Demon Hunters, we honestly didn’t expect such an overwhelming response. There aren’t many animated projects that focus on K-pop or Korean culture in this way, so it felt very new and meaningful to us.

JIHYO: We think the movie helped introduce K-pop to people beyond existing fans and allowed the genre to reach a wider, global audience. In that sense, it felt like an entry point for people who may not have been familiar with K-pop before.

CHAEYOUNG: We really enjoyed being part of the project, and we hope there will be more opportunities like this in the future where we can connect with people around the world through K-pop.

When TWICE first debuted 10 years ago, there must have been certain hopes or expectations for the future. How does your current reality compare to those early dreams? What’s the same and what feels different?

CHAEYOUNG: Back then, we never imagined we’d be meeting global fans or traveling to the U.S. for promotions. So all of this still feels new and makes us feel incredibly thankful.
