With a population of nearly 1.3 billion people, it's not surprising that China is home to some of the most talented folks on Earth. Luckily for us talent-appreciators here in North Texas, a handful of those folks -- The National Acrobats of the People's Republic of China -- are stepping out of the confines of their communist-ruled homeland to head toward Cowtown. The Beijing-based acrobat group, whose performances are colorful whirlwinds of tumbling, dancing and death-defying feats in the spirit of Cirque du Soleil, was established in 1950 (back when Mao Zedong ran the show), and has since been performing all around the world. This Monday, it's Fort Worth's turn, as the National Acrobats of the People's Republic of China make their way to the Bass Performance Hall (525 Commerce St.) amidst their first ever tour of the United States. The dreamlike performance gets started at 7:30 p.m., with tickets starting at $27.50. For more information on tickets and the acrobats themselves, call 817-212-4300 or visit basshall.com.
