Affordable home and furnishing options in Uptown seem few and far between. But at least for a little while, the McKinney Avenue Contemporary features some in the form of its current exhibit, a showcase of good home design and construction achievable for those with limited budgets. Artists, architects and sustainable design experts nationwide contributed projects. Affordable Housing: Designing an American Asset runs through June 30, with an opening reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and a panel discussion at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the MAC, 3120 McKinney Ave. Admission is free.
