This is the view from Unfair Park HQ, facing downtown -- specifically, Victory Plaza and the West End part of town, where a thick cloud of smoke's filling the partly cloudy sky. By the time you read this we will no doubt know what's on fire; but at the moment, we have no idea, as it's not been reported elsewhere. Anyone know? --Robert Wilonsky
Update: At 1:53 p.m., WFAA-Channel 8 is reporting that it's a large commercial warehouse just south of downtown that's ablaze. (Right here, to be precise.) Live video can be seen here. And this is where we share Noah Bailey's remark that the smoke indicates we've chosen a new pope -- or, ya know, mayor, in today's case.
Update x 2: I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but I think it's safe to say Jonanna Widner's roomie got the best pics of that fire you'll find anywhere.
