What? Good soul music on a Tuesday night in Dallas? It's true: Those in need of a mellow shot of rhythm and blues should check out Amy Lacour tonight at Opening Bell's Mosaic location.
LaCour, an L.A.-based singer-songwriter born and raised in Seattle, is working on her full-length debut, but already has the impressive Bitter Suite EP on her resume. Songs such as "One Man's Stone," "Fall" and "Fool's Road" feature LaCour's gospel-tinged voice cast against music that resonates will hip influences such as George Benson, Chaka Khan and Stevie Wonder.
Yes, I know that's some mighty company. But LaCour just might be the on the verge of greatness. How cool would it be to catch her on her ascent at an intimate venue like Opening Bell? Hell, the show even starts at 8 p.m., too, so you won't have to stay out past your bedtime.
