I hopped on the city's website this morning in search of something entirely unrelated when I noticed this: At the top of the page is a reminder that beginning tomorrow (geez, October already?) you'll need a permit to hold a garage sale in the city of Dallas. Cost: $15. Reason: "Registration is required to better regulate and enforce the garage sale provisions and promote Clean, Safe and Vibrant Neighborhoods." (Riiiight.)

Now, at present there are only three places were you can register: 7901 Goforth Road, 3112 Canton Street and 1818 Westmoreland Road. Oh, but fret not, says the handy-dandy Q&A: "Registration sites and online options will be added before spring 2011." Also from the Q&A, this reminder: "You can not place more than one sign, not to exceed two square feet, upon the lot where the sale is taking place. Any other signs at any locations remote from the sale property are not permitted." Hit it, fellas.
