Each week City of Ate will give you the lowdown on a local happy hour in Quittin' Time, with the details on why you should or shouldn't take up the featured bar or restaurant on its drink specials.

Where: J. Black's Feel Good Lounge, 2409 N. Henderson Ave., 214-613-2525

When: 4 to 8 p.m. daily and all day Sunday. Additionally, a $5 donation to Dallas Moustache during the Movember Kick-Off party 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, November 1, will net you drink discounts.

What:
$1 off drinks, 25 percent off wine bottles and half-off select shared plates

Why: Because perplexing as the moustache craze gripping the Dallas arts crowd (seriously, it seemed like half the females at Art Conspiracy were sporting fake 'staches) may be, we've got to hand it to Movember for last year raising $40 million toward awareness and finding cures for testicular and prostate cancer. "Mo Bros" are urged to begin the month clean-shaven and grow and groom their womb brooms throughout the month, steering the conversation toward men's health whenever asked about the new facial hair and encouraging people to donate to the cause on behalf of the individual or his team. Presumably, moustache girls will display their moustache finger tattoos and don their upper-lip merkins with even more enthusiasm than usual.

But if you can't make it to J. Black's this Monday, there are fundraiser moustache parties during Monday happy hours for the rest of the month. The Lemon Bar (3699 McKinney Ave.) will host a fundraiser party 6 to 9 p.m. November 8; Lee Harvey's will do the same 6 to 9 p.m. November 15; a venue to be determined will do so November 22; and the yet-to-open Brackets (former Trader Vic's location) will host the month-end celebration.
