On a whim this morning I visited the Woodall Rodgers Deck Park's Web site, where I found the video above: a nearly 7-minute-long Quin Mathews-made tribute to Willis Winters, the assistant director of City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department. Winters is far more than just another City Hall bureaucrat -- he's also respected architect, revered historian and acclaimed author whose myriad achievements were feted at the 11th Annual Preservation Achievement Awards ceremony in May. The film, studded with familiar faces and vintage footage, is well worth a watch this morning -- it's tasteful and thoughtful, much like the man himself.
