Art Conspiracy, i.e. everyone's favorite holiday splurge ("It's for a good cause," I rationalized after my fourth purchase last year), doesn't take place until the cold month of December, but leave it to our local art conspirators to be proactive. In preparation for the awesomeness that is sure to be this winter's ArtCon 6 (which will benefit Today Marks the Beginning), this year's ArtCon fundraising event SEED, aka "the clock experiment," is just around the corner. If you've ever attended an Art Conspiracy event, you can imagine the operational costs involved, so it only makes sense that everyone's favorite street-level philanthropists need help gathering some scratch from people like us. Almost as fun as ArtCon itself, SEED will be a night of music and art hosted by Reid Robinson, featuring 30 locally created "clocks" (use your imagination) on the auction block, and live music by The Cocky Americans, Jacob Metcalf and Johnny Beauford. SEED festivities are Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight at Sons of Hermann Hall, 3414 Elm St. Admission is $7 with all auctions opening at $20. Visit artconspiracy.org.
