It’s A Time-Period Dance Party!

Calling all history buffs, literature aficionados and lovers of Jane Austen’s prose. Join the Jane Austen Society of North Texas on Saturday at The Netherfield Ball as they celebrate the 200th anniversary of Pride and Prejudice at a lavish event inspired by Austen’s gala of the same name. Learn the beautiful figures of English country dancing and keep time with experienced dancers and beginners alike. No experience is required, but the proper shoes are — only dance shoes or flat shoes will be allowed at the ball and the dress code is regency or cocktail attire. Festivities will take place at the Temple Emanuel-El (8500 Hillcrest Road), and doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $20 to $40 and are available at jasnanorthtexas.com.
