7 p.m. Friday, see Kathleen Madigan at the Lakewood Theater, 1825 Abrams Parkway. She's not the funniest. This isn't my opinion talking; this is a proven fact. She was on Last Comic Standing. She lost. She was not the funniest. America decided (and, with the popularity of the bastion of originality, Mind of Mencia, it's obvious that although America doesn't test very well, America does know good comedy when she hears it). But, Kathleen Madigan is way better than a lot of people—also proven on Last Comic Standing. And if you're questioning my use of Last Comic Standing as a metric, you don't know comedy. The best comics of our generation have been popularized by that show. Thanks to that show, we discovered Dat Phan—the greatest Asiansploitationist since Margaret Cho. Tickets are $20 to $35.
