Second Thought State of Mind

There’s got to be something so sweet about coming home after you hit the big time—and not in a “nyah nyah”, rub-it-in-their-face kinda way. Rather, there’s probably some special feels a person gets after seeing the places where they built themselves up and put in so much of the hard work that eventually paid off for them. Actor Allison Tolman probably knows a thing or two about this: the Baylor grad spent some years in Dallas as a founding member of Second Thought Theatre. These days, she spends her time working as Emmy-nominated cast member of TV’s acclaimed “Fargo”, but she still has a soft spot for that little theatre company in Dallas she helped get off the ground. In fact, Tolman is the star attraction for Second Thought Theatre’s Second Thought State of Mind, a fundraiser and celebration of the drama company known for its strong ensemble casts and thought-provoking plays. On Saturday, October 25, the actress will discuss her experiences during the early days of the company and give insight into her role of a lifetime on “Fargo”. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with cocktails and canapes, followed by Tolman’s Q&A at 7 p.m. and a “fund the mission” event at 8 p.m. Tickets to the event, held at Bridge Bistro, 921 North Riverfront, are $50.
