TED Talks have become our modern lecture series, taking the talk out of the classroom and putting it on an interactive, global stage. They engage at nearly every cultural level — art, music, tech, business, politics — and touch on more personal stories as well. They’ve become a future-casting event, millennial salons, and SMU has fully embraced them. On Thursday, at SMU’s Lyle School of Engineering (3101 Dyer St.), you can catch a whole day of knowledge-dropping at TEDxSMU Live: TED Global 2013 Simulcast, which will feature sessions titled “Money Talks,” “Listening to Nature,” “World on its Head” and “Regeneration.” It runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free. Bring a lunch. Call 214-768-1558 or visit tedxsmu.org.
