When it comes to wine, some people are able to identify and pedigree a glass in less than 30 seconds. Others are in the "like what you like 'cause you like it" category. A few still rate jug wines highly, on the quantity is quality principle. Regardless of which camp you fall into, if you love wine, then we have found your people. And you can join them at tonight's tasting event at Pogo's Wine & Spirits.
The Dallas Secret Wine Society is comprised of all levels of wine enthusiasts. Some are experts and others, according to the web site, simply "stumbled upon one extraordinary bottle of wine that changed (their) lives forever."
Probably not Boone's Farm.
Introductions--to such life-changing wines and the people who love them--drive the society. It achieves its goal through wine education, pairing suggestions (Shiraz goes well alongside steak with black pepper crust, for example) and special events.
Tonight's Secret Society Wine Tasting includes Billaud Simon Chablis AC 2006, Grivault Meursault AC 2005 and L'Arlot Nuits St. George 2005.
