Vigil for Botham Shem Jean Demands Action

Heavy gray storm clouds lingered over downtown Dallas on Friday night as about 150 people gathered in front of the Dallas Police Department headquarters for a vigil honoring Botham Shem Jean, 26, killed by an off-duty Dallas police officer after the officer attempted to enter his apartment, believing it to be her own, according to statements from DPD. In front of a makeshift memorial in front of Dallas police headquarters, the group demanded police immediately arrest the as-yet unnamed officer, who faces a charge of manslaughter, according to Dallas Police Chief U. Renee Hall.
