At the London Olympics, along with all kinds of sports we only pay attention to every four years, we will get to see horses and their jockeys compete in jumping, dressage and eventing. But what about all-out racing? Your last chance to see horses compete for speed locally is Lone Star Park's closing weekend, when horses sired by verified Texan stock will compete for your wages and attention. Bring a Pepsi can to the park and receive a pass for free admission and a large Pepsi. The gates open Sunday at 11:30 am and the first race starts at 1:35 pm at Lone Star Park, 1000 Lone Star Parkway, Grand Prairie. Tickets are $5. For more information call 972-263-7223 or visit LoneStarPark.com.
