Not only does SMU art professor Barnaby Fitzgerald have an old-timey name, he also paints the type of old-school broads you might find in a Greek mythology textbook, lounging around eating apples with some naked dudes and minotaurs. His latest exhibit, Barnaby Fitzgerald:â€¦complexions of the avatarsâ€¦, collects a number of egg tempura paintings "sparked by dreams of history, literature, science, music, food and memory." And if the resulting paintings are any indication of the dreams he's been having lately, I'm guessing he might have gone to bed listening to either Enya or Pink Floyd's 1994 comeback album The Division Bell (Or maybe Enigma. Either way, something kind of New Age-y). See â€¦complexions of the avatarsâ€¦ through December 8 at the Valley House Gallery, 6616 Spring Valley Road.
