A new musical promises to entertain the whole family despite its title--Are We There Yet?--a question that generally signals the beginning of boredom. However, a local blogging mom--now there's a scary thought--who reviewed the show gave it a big thumbs up, describing it as a heartfelt, motherhood-relatable play that brought chuckles and tears as it poked fun "at all the truisms of life." From the song "Battling Zero," about a mom begging the heavens to give her Little League-playing son a hit--bloggin' mama says, "The strong vocals and choreography hit a home run!"--to monologues about deep universal subjects like dealing with an aging parent's dementia, the play has plenty of moments sure to resonate with your average, slightly dysfunctional family unit. Are We There Yet? runs at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays , 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays through April 26 at Theatre Arlington, 305 W. Main St. in Arlington. Call 817-275-7661 or visit theatrearlington.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sun., April 5, 2 p.m.; Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sun., April 19, 2 p.m.; Sun., April 26, 2 p.m. Starts: April 3. Continues through April 26, 2009
