In celebration of America's 100th anniversary of naval aviation, the War Birds Over Addison Airshow will fill the skies over the Cavanaugh Flight Museum, 4572 Claire Chennault in Addison. The airshow will feature many of the museum's prized WWII, Korean, and Vietnam-era planes in flightlike the P-51 Mustang, FM2 Wildcat, AD-5 Skyraider, and many more. If watching isn't enough, attendees will have a chance to take a ride in one of the Cavanaugh Flight museum's historic helicopters and war-planes. For those who would rather stay grounded, the museum will be open and will also provide tours of a period CV-2B Caribou cargo plane. Special demonstrations will include the museum's very own Sherman tank in action. A variety of children's activities will also be offered. Special guest and SR-71 pilot, Richard Grahm, will give first-hand lectures and sign his new book, SR-71 Revealed. War Birds Over Addison begins at 10 a. m. and flies until 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and military, and $5 for children ages 4 to 12.
