Photography has really suffered an identity crisis over the past several years. Digital photography came onto the scene and completely took over, while, at least in the art world, film photography still had a lot to say. Many artists have come up with ways to incorporate traditional darkroom photography with digital breakthroughs. On Friday the Oak Cliff Cultural Center host an opening for Multiple Exposures, a photography exhibition of artwork by Kathy Tran and Steve and Erin Reeves that does exactly that. The trio works collaboratively as MakeShift Photography, and they have come up with ways of experimenting with double exposures that result in unique, multi-layered creations. 223 W Jefferson, 7:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. Call 214-670-3777 or visit dallasculture.org/oakcliffculturalcenter for more information. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. Following the opening, the exhibit will be on display through June 13.
Fri., May 16, 7-9 p.m.; Tuesdays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: May 16. Continues through June 13, 2014
