From the soggy bottom of the once-great city rises the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, a touring time capsule of authentic Louisiana jazz, as set forth by its charter members more than 40 years ago. Named for the music venue located in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, the band was founded by Allan and Sandra Jaffee in 1961 and has toured the world with the goal of "spreading their mission to nurture and perpetuate the art form of New Orleans Jazz." If you're a student of jazz, a lover of music or a heeder of Cinderella's prophecy, you'll not want to miss Thursday's performance.
The Preservation Hall Jazz Band will perform at 8 p.m. at Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth. Tickets are $15 to $45. Call 1-877-212-4280 or visit
