Grab your lawnchair, your stars 'n' stripes button-up shirt, and your six-pack of domestic beer--it's that time of year again! Addison's Kaboom Town! has been the firework show Mecca here in North Texas for over two decades, and this year, things are no different. After three musical acts donning the main stage, along with an air show and countless child-friendly activities throughout the evening, festivities will reach a climax with the always-epic firework show at about 9:35 p.m. The fireworks can be seen from just about anywhere in Addison, so expect to see some 'works watching parties lining the restaurant-laden streets. Festivities get rolling at 5 p.m., and from there, it's drinking, enjoying company, and celebrating our independence until the half-hour firework spectacular later in the evening. Admission is free for the half-million expected guests, all of whom should expect less-than-stellar traffic following the festivities. Oh, and best of luck getting Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA" out of your heard on the ride home.
