There’s pigs’ blood in the Trinity and we’ve most certainly paved over some very important burial sites here in Dallas, so it would make sense for the impending zombie uprising to take root in our alkaline soils. Whether or not the infection is spread by traditional biting or through bong hits — well, that’s a topic best addressed by Pot Zombies 2: More Pot, Less Plot. It’s a new film by local camera-hugger Justin Powers, who made the original Pot Zombies as an experiment. He never expected anyone to care. Then, Troma picked it up and now you can even watch the thing on Hulu. Powers has learned a lot since then, and he’s put the entirety of his wisdom into this new Pot Zombies installment (which looks AMAZING, by the way.) It screens at the Texas Theatre Saturday as part of Andrew Rose’s DOA Bloodbath Film Festival, which celebrates all things crunchy, leaking and oozing. Pot Zombies 2 stars Billy Blair from Machete, searching for braaaaains in a haze of ganja fumes. It starts at 5:15 p.m. Visit doabloodbath.com.
