Nuts And Butts

I hope you're comfortable with scantily clad woman performing sensual routines as a form of holiday entertainment, because it's definitely gonna be a burlesque Christmas this year in Dallas. Now before you dismiss the notion as just smut theater, remember burlesque isn't the same for everyone across the board and can match the audience's personal tastes. That's why MBS Productions' The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents: A Bur-less-Q Nutcracker doesn't have any stripping in the performance. The play spoofs the ballet-oriented original, as Beulaville women try to raise money and save their book club by reproducing Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker, but wind up doing it burlesque-style due to unforeseen circumstances. So let go of any qualms and check out some refreshing Baptist burlesque. The show plays at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with additional shows through December 26 at the Stone Cottage Theatre in the Addison Conference and Theater Center, 15650 Addison Road. Tickets are $18 to $22. For tickets ($18 to $22) and showtimes, call 214-477-4942 or visit
Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Dec. 18-19, 2 p.m.; Wed., Dec. 22, 8 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 26, 2 p.m. Starts: Nov. 26. Continues through Dec. 23, 2010
