Kincaid's Hamburgers, a Fort Worth institution that perennially appears on lists of the nation's best hamburger joints, is planning to reopen its concession at LaGrave Field during this year's minor league baseball season.

Kincaid's sold its burgers at Fort Worth Cats games from 2005-2008, but temporarily gave up its minor league assignment to focus on expansion plans.

"The Cats does take some time to do," says owner Ron Gentry. "And at that particular time, we were in the middle of opening up four stores."

Gentry adds that ballgame prep work puts pressure on existing stores, since the meat for LaGrave Field burger's is ground off-site. All of the bun-toasting, patty-grilling and French fry-making is done at the concession stand, using a flat-top griddle and a deep-fryer.

Kincaid's ballpark menu is limited to hamburgers, cheeseburgers and French fries.

"That's all we do, so we can crank it out," Gentry explains.

According to a press release, Cats supporters are anxious for Kincaid's return. The release quotes general manager Dick Smith as saying, "I wish I had a quarter for every time a fan asked, 'When is Kincaid's coming back?'"

Gentry says his restaurant's fans are equally excited.

"We've had a lot of customers comment on it," Gentry says. "We're looking forward to it. We'll be there opening day until they go to the play-offs."
