As if to underscore the fact that he's a guy who can do it all for the team, Dirk Nowitzki took a seat in the American Airlines Center ticket booth this afternoon to sell the first tickets to next month's NBA All-Star Jam Session.

After contributing 20 points to the Mavs' shellacking of the Knicks last night, Nowitzki mastered the ticket window microphone system and began his sales career by chatting up Lewisville's Sylvia Smiley, who'd been waiting along Houston Street since midnight. As one of the first of 100 fans in line, Smiley got an autograph from the Mavs' forward, and as one of the first 10 in line, she won the chance to reconnect again with Dirk next month at a meet-and-greet on February 10.

The $20 tickets -- which are available online starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday -- get you into the Dallas Convention Center for "11 acres of NBA All-Star excitement," including autograph sessions, basketball clinics and a chance to plunk down more cash in the NBA store. One of plenty of less official All-Star-themed parties in Dallas next month, the Jam Session runs from February 11-13.

Walking away from the ticket window, Smiley agreed that she was "pretty cold" waiting in line outside, but that it was worth the wait to finally meet Nowitzki. Then she took the front spot in yet another line, waiting for Dirk to finish selling tickets so he could grab a seat at the autograph table.
