We here at the Dallas Observer love to eat, and we also love meeting our readers. We're bringing these two things together in August for a members-only supper club at the Ramble Room.

For over 40 years, the Observer has been dedicated to bringing you local news with an unbiased take. Our members' program is designed to help keep this wild dream alive and thriving.

It's crucial that we interact with our readers. We're better when we're face-to-face with our community, even if a bowl of pasta is between us.

In July, we hosted our first members-only supper club at Radici, where we met sous chef Ivana Robinson and learned about her path to working for one of Dallas' most lauded chefs, Tiffany Derry. She talked about the detail that goes into every dish (the meatballs, specifically) and their meticulous morning audits of their produce delivery.

We passed around amazing plates of food and got to meet new neighbors, chat about our respective neighborhoods, and how we never knew carrots or eggplant could be so tasty. New relationships were forged. It was honestly a lovely evening.

Our next members-only supper club is at the Ramble Room on Aug. 12 with their chef and longtime Dallas restaurateur Jon Alexis, who also owns TJ's Seafood, Escondido, Birdie's Eastside and Malibu Poke. To buy a ticket, first you'll need to become a member, which you can do by giving any amount to support our newsroom and ongoing food and drink coverage. Then you'll receive an email to purchase a ticket.

There are just 18 seats at this next dinner, which will include a three-course meal with drink pairings. Tickets are $80 each plus fees. Seating is limited, and reservations are required.
