The Paper Chase's New Record Begins To Leak...

We've already gone on record as saying that The Paper Chase's Someday This Could All Be Yours, Vol. 1 is one of our most anticipated records of the year here at DC9, and it's not just because we're aching for new material from John Congleton, Sean Kirkpatrick, Bobby Weaver and Jason Garner.

We also think the idea behind the record is pretty goddamn genius: Every song on the disc is inspired by a different natural disaster--everything from the common cold to a comet striking the planet. And, now that we've received our preview copy, yes, we can confirm that, actually, a bunch of the tracks really do sound like the sonic representations of the tragedies that inspired them. You'll know what I mean the first time you hear "I'm Going To Heaven With Or Without You (The Forest Fire)", with its undulating cello and piano punches. So, yeah, I'm pretty excited to further delve into the disc--as you should be, too.

In the meantime, a music blog called thefourohfive went ahead and leaked the sixth track from the disc, "What Should We Do With Your Body? (The Lightning)" late last week. And it's still up for grabs. Our recommendation? Grab it immediately.

And, remember not to get ahead of yourself with anticipation for Vol. 2.
