The tail end of the Mavs parade left the Dallas Convention Center moments ago; more to come from that traffic jam shortly. But till then, this just in from the folks overseeing the LBJ Freeway redo: The second -- and final -- wave of HOV lane closures is set to begin tomorrow night. Specifically: The eastbound HOV beginning just east of Luna Road and extending just wast of Hillcrest and the wesbound HOV from Hillcrest Road to Josey Lane are about to go kaput.

The great Tony Hartzel at TxDOT is at LBJ Express Project HQ right now and tells Unfair Park they're discussing "what to keep an eye on to keep traffic flowing as smoothly as possible. We're going to watch it closely." Which means coordinating with LBJ Infrastructure Group, which is technically in charge of traffic flow, and "looking at ways to alleviate some of the potential backups farther to the east. There are several options, but nothing's been decided."

He reminds: Those likely to be affected by the tear-up should head here and sign up for e-alerts related to LBJ traffic. But, look, he deadpans: "The work is only beginning."
