Nara Smith, a Dallas-based model and influencer, was recently named by Rolling Stone as the 4th Most Influential Creator in 2024.
She's known for her glamorous style and impractical cooking techniques, making everything from scratch. Seriously. Some of the most impractical have been Goldfish, condensed milk for horchata and even the tapioca pearls that go in boba tea.
But when she's not making rice noodles from scratch in a Chanel tweed set, she's ordering out.
In a recent interview with GQ, Nara Smith and her husband, Lucky Blue Smith, took a couples quiz in which each person asked the other a series of questions to see who knew whom better.
For an influencer known for her cooking, "What's my favorite restaurant?" was probably the most important question she could have asked.
She suggested naming the top two since she had a bunch.
The first was Nobu, a high-end sushi restaurant frequented by celebrities. The other was a local restaurant, Ka Thai, which Lucky says they order from a lot.
Ka Thai is a family-owned restaurant with locations in Uptown, Midtown, and North Dallas. Its recipes for traditional food have been passed down for generations. Some plates you'd find served from street stalls in Bangkok.
In the interview, Smith never disclosed what they like to order, but that's nothing a little internet sleuthing can't fix. Some of her most popular videos are of her and Lucky ordering late-night takeout, and two (this one and this one) feature the same Thai restaurant and their orders.
In both videos, they order chicken stir-fry, drunken noodles, vegetable glass noodle stir-fry, extra chilis and a side of white rice. And it wouldn't be Nara Smith's Thai takeout order if there wasn't a mango sticky rice in the bag.
It doesn't matter if you love her or are just hearing of her, we all just gained another Thai staple for our next takeout night.
Ka Thai locations are 3220 McKinney Ave., 8185 Walnut Hill Lane and 6859 Arapaho Road.
