A Drag Queen Christmas is celebrating its 10th anniversary in fabulous fashion. The annual holiday drag variety show is visiting several cities throughout the tour, and this year’s festive lineup of performers is set to grace Music Hall at Fair Park with their presence on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Fans can look forward to several song-and-dance numbers performed by RuPaul’s Drag Race alum, including Nina West, who has been hosting A Drag Queen Christmas since 2019. While in town, West is looking forward to visiting the city that has birthed many a drag icon.

“I've had the privilege of being on the road for a long time and Dallas has an incredible drag history,” says West. “You've got S4, you’ve got The Round-Up, you've got all of these incredible iconic venues — and I'm excited to see friends that I've made over these last almost nearly two decades [since West has been performing] and I'm excited for delicious food and for the audience there to see the show.”

West is equally excited to visit Virgin Hotels’ Mariah Carey-themed Holiday pop-up — “You’re lying!” she says upon learning of the spot. “Now I know I’m gonna have to do that while I’m in town.”

Joining West are fellow Drag Race favorites Sapphira Cristal, Roxxxy Andrews, Angeria Paris VanMichaels, Plane Jane, Crystal Methyd, Plasma, Lady Camden, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Sasha Colby.

“Texas has a special place in my heart,” says Colby. “I got to work in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Austin, and it’s really molded the type of drag that I love. Which is big, beautiful, Texas drag.”

At 10 years, A Drag Queen Christmas is the longest-running drag tour in America, and at its latest iteration, fans will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite queens. Before the show starts at 8 p.m., the queens will speak with fans, sign merch and take photos during a meet and greet portion beginning at 6 p.m.

While Dallasites are surely looking forward to this robust line-up of Drag Race winners, runner-up, All-Stars and Miss Congenialties, West is excited to reunite with local queens — many of whom are friends she’s made on the road.

“I plan to pop out and see some of my favorite queens who are working,” West says.

Past iterations of A Drag Queen Christmas have featured the queens lip-syncing to holiday favorites, live vocal performances of original songs (with some raunchy flair) and, of course, next-level choreography performed in extravagant holiday costumes.

In the spirit of the holiday season, West recently released a song called “Calista,” a Rudolph-inspired song about “a fabulous gay reindeer.”

“I really wanted to go big and celebrate,” West says, “so I wrote a new song for the tour.”

For the 10th anniversary, West promises that the queens’ performances will be bigger and better than ever.

“We've got dancers, we've got pyrotechnics, we’ve got incredible production,” she says. “And it's all in the spirit of the season. We’re really bringing the best of Drag Race to the holidays and I think what people can expect is a night of pure unfiltered, unadulterated entertainment. It’s really the best of the best.”

A Drag Queen Christmas will take place Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Music Hall at Fair Park, 909 First Ave.
