Let’s hope the turf is ready because this Easter some girls (athletes) won’t be walking on eggshells. And, even if they tried, their cleats would break them. From April 4-8, the Dallas Texans (2013 Wing Point Lane, Plano) are hosting the second annual Dallas International Girls Cup. Nearly 100 soccer teams from the U.S., Canada, Europe, South America and Asia will charge the field in the most competitive international youth tournament in the U.S. These high school girls mean business as they aim towards the ultimate goal — their age group's trophy. So, don’t be surprised if they cross pass referees, who are also traveling from all parts of the world. The sidelines aren’t necessarily a safe-zone, either. Last year, more than 80 college coaches from around the world came to scout out top players. If there’s too much estrogen for you, head down the road to watch the top international boys tournament. The party continues off the field too with karaoke, dancing and other festivities. For a complete schedule, visit http://www.dallasinternationalgirlscup.com/information.
