Tommy, the Who’s 1975 musical based on their 1969 album of the same name, has been psychoanalyzed, contextualized, repurposed and transformed into a cult hit referenced across 30 years of pop culture. It also gave the Who the distinction of being one of the first bands to approach the rock opera. Texas Theatre’s (231 W. Jefferson) run of the Ken Russell-directed film brings the tale of the deaf, dumb and blind pinball wizard (played by Roger Daltrey) back to its glorious 35mm format. And that’s the only way you want to see this film, especially the scenes that include Tina Turner as the Acid Queen. Screens at 7 p.m. Visit thetexastheatre.com for tickets.
