Local Talent

Stand-up comedy takes cojones. Just ask my funny friend Donnie, who once took on the crowd at an open mike comedy night and was booed right back to his seat. To this day he still carries the battle scars; he has also come to terms with the fact that his job as a Houston probation officer is much easier on the ego and more likely to pay the bills. But kudos to those who don't give up, including Dallas' very own Dean Lewis. He's performing at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road, 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $12. Dec. 27-28, 8:30 p.m.
KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
