Despite the fact that consumerism is not terribly hip right now, sprinkle it with a dose of nostalgia and it never goes out of style. Neiman Marcus has a corner on that market here in Dallas, a result of cultivating unique style and commitment to community that puts the department store squarely in the realm of sentiment for Dallasites, most of whom have never considered a $3,200 handbag. Consider the collaboration between the venerated hometown retailer and the Dallas Theater Center in celebration of DTC's 50th anniversary. The stylists who craft the inimitable visual experience within Neiman's will collaborate with DTC to curate a visually compelling exhibit of costumes, photographs, stage designs, posters and more from theater productions throughout the years. It's a perfect partnership between two institutions ingrained in our local culture. The downtown Neiman Marcus at 1618 Main St. will be the showcase for Scene on Stage: A Costume and Archival Exhibit Celebrating Dallas Theater Center's 50th Anniversary, held through May 18 and available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Thursdays until 8 p.m.
Mondays-Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Starts: May 1. Continues through May 18, 2009
