Among many other things going on this weekend is the 3rd annual Taste of Greenville Avenue (TOGA), this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Energy Square, 4925 Greenville Ave.

More than two dozen Greenville area restaurants will be on hand to serve small portions of signatures dishes that cost between $3 and $6 each. Vendors include Woodfire by Kirby's, The Grape, Greenville Avenue Pizza Company, Rohst, Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, Southwest Kia (yummy) and Valpak (mostest yummy).

There will also be local retail stores, and the standard vendors that really bring nothing interesting to the table and just want give the appearance that they're totally into the neighborhood.

The Ben E. Keith Beverage Company and Coca-Cola will be on hand to keep everyone properly hydrated with eight different beers on tap, as well as the standard non-alcoholic drinks.

The good folks at TOGA realize that everyone is super excited about it being Halloween weekend, and say that if you want to wear your costume, "Well, of course you can, shug!" They do ask, however, we all keep it on the PG level, as this is a family event.

The Cliff Blues Band goes onstage at 10:30 a.m, followed by The Chameleon Chamber Group (electro-acoustic classical music with a modern twist), Larry g[EE], and the King Bucks at 6:30 p.m. See you there.
