While it may not have swept the Academy Awards or shattered box office records, Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown was assuredly 1997's most badass film.
The film featured a cast of some of the biggest names in the biz, Robert De Niro, Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Keaton (Batman, I tell ya!), but no star in the film shone as brightly as Pam Grier, the former blaxploitation darling who more than two decades earlier starred as Foxy Brown in the critically panned, albeit groundbreaking, film of the same name.
Tonight at 7, the Lone Star Film Society will screen Jackie Brown at The Modern, with the Golden Globe-nominated actress in attendance to introduce the film.
