Chefs For Farmers is a yearly food and wine festival that will take place from Wednesday, Oct. 29 to Sunday, Nov. 2. The event brings in chefs, artisans, food enthusiasts and local farmers for a long weekend rooted in community to honor the ingredients, talent and stories that define modern Texas cuisine.
It began in 2010 as an intimate dinner on a local farm in Dallas, and over the last 15 years, it has grown into one of the state's most celebrated culinary events.
For its 15th Anniversary, CFF has expanded to four days at venues throughout Dallas, including chef-led dinners, walk-around tastings, wine and cocktail activations, and all-day live entertainment.
This year, old favorites are returning alongside new themed experiences. On Wednesday, Oct. 29 from 7-10 p.m., there will be an exclusive dinner for American Airlines AAdvantage Mastercard cardmembers in the gardens of Marie Gabrielle. The dinner event, An Evening in the Garden, will be backed by James Beard Award finalists and semifinalists.
The Italian Social, presented by Peroni, is taking place on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 7-9 p.m. It's a lively Italian-inspired walk-around tasting featuring regional bites and premium pours.
Expanded Main Event
This year's main event is spread out over two days: Saturday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 2, from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be unlimited tastings from the region's best chefs and beverage purveyors, interactive lounges, chef demos, and live performances.Chefs featured throughout this year's celebration are Aaron Collins of Cafe Momentum, Peja Krstic of Mot Hai Ba and Pillar and Toby Archibald of Quarter Acre.
New Events
The Rosé Ranch is a new addition this year that will channel a laid-back Hill Country vibe — with wine. The open flames at Texas Tailgate are a tribute to the gameday spirit, and Smoke Show explores the art and craft of wood, flame and regional barbecue techniques. There will also be a wellness and picnic area, the Texas Love Zone, which celebrates the soul of Texas through chef lineups and barbeque-inspired décor and a BMW giveaway.
If you've been to CFF before and waddled away disappointed that you ate as much as you could but still didn't hit every spot, you can save money on a weekend pass, which includes unlimited food and drink from local farms and chefs, entertainment and new activations.
