Sherlock's Channels Hitchcock Every Sunday in August

Last month we gave you "Your July Guide to Dallas' Free Outdoor Movies. You're Welcome, Cheapskate." Well, July's come and gone, and it's effing hot. It's time to move the free movie screenings indoors. With beer. But not free beer...

Help us weather the uncertain future

We know — the economic times are hard. We believe that our work of reporting on the critical stories unfolding right now is more important than ever.

We need to raise $6,000 to meet our goal by August 10. If you’re able to make a contribution of any amount, your dollars will make an immediate difference in helping ensure the future of local journalism in Dallas. Thanks for reading the Dallas Observer.

Before the rise of the ever popular gore-porn and slasher genres, Alfred Hitchcock was there providing psychological terror. To celebrate Hitchcock's birthday month, Sherlock's Baker St. Pub & Grill in Dallas (9100 N. Central Expressway) will be hosting "Hitchcock Sundays" every Sunday in August. A month long celebration of Grace Kelly, Janet Leigh, Doris Day and Tippi Hedron entrapped and entwined in the suspense and psychological thrillers of Hitchcock's mind. Need I say more?

Here's the schedule. Take your pick of beautiful blondes and add them to your calendar.

August 4: The Birds August 11: Psycho August 18: Rear Window August 25: The Man Who Knew Too Much

The movies start at 8 p.m. with live music to follow. Sharpen up your Where's Waldo? skills of yore and see if you can spot the film pioneer in each of these masterpieces. Did we mention happy hour all night and free popcorn?
