J.D. Freeman, Clear Channel's Dallas market manager, just called with the bad news: Bo Roberts, co-host of the Bo & Jim Mornings show on Lone Star 92.5 and a local radio fixture dating back to his days on Q102 beginning in 1982, suffered a heart attack late Tuesday. Freeman says it happened after Roberts had worked out: "He'd gone home, said he wasn't feeling well, went to the doctor, and the doctor told him he needed to be admitted immediately. Thank goodness he was."

Freedman hasn't spoken with Roberts, but co-host Jim White has -- and "Jim says he's in real positive spirits, real upbeat," Freeman notes. Roberts, who was a real favorite of mine as a kid and who's always been nothing but a nice guy whenever I run into him as an adult, will have bypass surgery tomorrow morning.
