There are so many burger joints in Dallas you'd think statin drug reps are investing in any restaurant that promises to serve ground beef. Not that you should complain. Many of these restaurants offer an affordable, delicious meal. And besides, you can always hit the gym tomorrow, right?

But the burger glut makes it harder for each new restaurant to stand out. That's what makes Off-Site Kitchen's approach so refreshing.

Picture that dusty old burger joint your old man used to take you to way back in the day, where the burgers tasted good because of some mystical 30-year sheen of grease that's permanently bonded with the steel of the flat top grill. Off-Site Kitchen takes that same experience and upgrades the ingredients and the execution. The results are disturbingly addictive.

Compared to most of the new burger joints popping up everywhere, the patties at Off-Site Kitchen are small. They clock in at a quarter-pound, evoking old-school burgers that make you miss the way things once were, but with more flavor because the patties are formed on-site everyday and cooked more carefully. Who knew a paper-wrapped burger could actually taste this good? Your burger world just got very small.
