This week in show announcements has excited music fans of all kinds. The second half of 2013 is shaping up to be jam-packed with quality live music in Dallas. When it's time to hop up off that pool float, and the margarita machine has run dry, grab a Red Bull and keep it moving. The sun might have zapped up all your energy, but it will rise again on the city's show calendar.

Parade of Flesh is bringing everyone's favorite Japanese noise outfit, Melt Banana, through town as they make their way to Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin. The November 8 show at Dada will also feature Locust spinoff band Retox. Both of these bands have a substantial cult following and are sure to bring a big turnout.

For those looking for something a little ... milder from their live music experience, Rick Springfield (of "Jessie's Girl" fame) will be hitting House Of Blues on September 8.

Thurston Moore's Chelsea Light Moving will stop through Trees on November 7, another stopover date on the way to Fun Fun Fun Fest. Moore's ex wife and former Sonic Youth band mate, Kim Gordon, made waves this spring when she revealed to Elle that their divorce was due to Moore's infidelity. The revelation is doubtful to make a dent in either musician's sizable fan base. One of Dallas' favorite New Orleans artists, Trombone Shorty, is going to be in Dallas this fall. Along with his band, Orleans Avenue, he'll hit House of Blues on November 29. Those unfamiliar might remember him for the inaugural performance at the grand opening of Klyde Warren Park last Summer.

Though all of the aforementioned bookings were pleasing enough for Dallas concert-goers, one local promoter stole the show this week. The Internet went wild this Monday when Spune rolled out their third lineup announcement for their annual Index Festival. Killer Mike and El-P's new joint venture, Run The Jewels, was included. Girl Talk, Warpaint, The Cannabinoids, Frontier Ruckus, Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, and Sons of Fathers will also round out the fest's second year. Two day passes are now on sale for the Deep Ellum outing, which spans two days (Oct 18 and 19).
