It's not music or beer that makes a great party — that's 97 percent of it, tops — but the variety of people assembled under one roof. You've got your bright and happy party girls; your conversationalists, who can talk about anything to anyone; your cerebral folks, who often take a turn for the heady; and even your wallflowers, who still manage to stick out on account of their commitment to being there. It’s the depth and breadth of personality that takes a get-together from awkward gathering to illuminating experience — and that's exactly what artist and curator Josh Reames has pulled off at Circuit 12 Contemporary’s latest exhibition, PRTY PPL. Twenty-nine different lives-of-the-party are gathered in one place, each offering something different — from ebullience, to vivid colors to more serious ruminations on form and space. You can crash this bash at Circuit 12 (1130 Dragon St.) starting Saturday and through February 14 during gallery hours, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Visit circuit12.com for more.
Sat., Jan. 10, 6-10 p.m.; Tuesdays-Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Starts: Jan. 10. Continues through Feb. 14, 2015
