Revel in their Drawls

Story time ain’t just for the kiddos these days. Much as we love curling up with a good book, we love it even more when someone wants to do the reading legwork on our behalf, which is why we’re thrilled about the Dallas Museum of Art’s Texas Bound series. The DMA team has worked to pair up some of the best Texas actors with the best Texas authors, and this week’s story telling session features actors Cindy Beall, John Benjamin Hickey, Judith Ivey and Raphael Parry reading works by Betty Wiesepape, Patricia Highsmith, Alix Ohlin and Jack Handey. Join your Texas kin for Texas Bound II, round two of this Lone Star story time at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Horchow Auditorium of the DMA, 1717 N. Harwood St. Tickets are $35 with student and partner discounts available. Call 214-922-1818 or visit

KEEP THE DALLAS OBSERVER FREE... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we'd like to keep it that way. With local media under siege, it's more important than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" program, allowing us to keep offering readers access to our incisive coverage of local news, food and culture with no paywalls.
