We would be remiss if we didn't start off Friday by reminding you where you need to be Saturday: at the Granada Theater, starting at 7 p.m. As we've mentioned before, tomorrow night's the Carter Albrecht Memorial concert, tickets to which are $30, with the proceeds going toward the establishment of the Carter Albrecht Music Foundation. Among those scheduled to perform tomorrow night: the Old 97's, the Drams, Salim Nourallah, Junky Southern, Pleasant Grove's Marcus Striplin, Sarah Jaffe, the Slack and, of course, Sorta, for the first time since Albrecht's death last month. Mike Rhyner, of KTCK-AM (1310, The Ticket), will be the evening's emcee.
Just a few days ago, there was a sorta tune-up: On October 11, at White Rock Coffee, Trey Johnson and Chris Holt, joined by their dear friend Jenn Nabb and others, offered a tribute to Albrecht, during which they performed "Sweet Little Bay" off 2004's Little Bay. Michael Pyeatt recorded the moment; the video's below. Also, after the jump, is Centro-matic's video tribute to Albrecht, which you might have missed: It's the song "I See Through You" from Ft. Recovery. See you tomorrow night. --Robert Wilonsky
